Clean India campaign launched at various places

Ccp/Tbl, October 01 2021: Aimed at creating awareness, mobilization of people and ensuring their involvement in the Clean India initiative, Minister (TA & Hills, GAD and Transport) Vungzagin Valte launched Clean India Campaign with the theme 'Clean India, Safe India' today at District Training Centre, Tuibong.

The campaign was launched in the presence of Pawan Yadav, DC/CCpur, Shivanand Surve, SP/CCpur and other dignitaries.

The Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is undertaking 'Clean India' programme to organize activities to keep surroundings clean and waste free and propagate the mantra of "Clean India, Safe India" .

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, the Minister said that as the mind, body and environment are interconnected; one needs to have a clean mind, body to have a clean environment.

Clarifying the ADC Bill row, the Minister said that the department concerned has to consult all stakeholders, the law department on the legal aspect and the office of the Advocate General.

He added that the Bill seeks to 'repeal' the Manipur (Hill Areas) District Councils Act, 1971, which is the principal bill, created more complications and further stated that a committee has been constituted in this regard and the bill will undergo careful examination according to the due process of the law.


Urging the people to participate in the Clean India campaign, the Minister informed them to make good use of the vehicles and machinery with ADC to clean the town and instill awareness and feeling of pride among the people.

LT Ngaihte of Vision Lamka, Lunkhomang Khongsai, CO 1st IRB, Lalthazam, DEO/ADCC, DLOs from different departments and Nehru Yuva Volunteers from NYK, Churachandpur participated in the event.

THOUBAL
As a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, 'Clean India Programme' was also launched on Friday at Thoubal Municipal Council Office.

The programme was organised by Thoubal Municipal Council and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Thoubal in collaboration with NSS Thoubal, Urban Local Bodies and Gram Panchayats of the district.

It was attended by SP Thoubal, Jogesh Chandra Haobijam and ADM Thoubal, B Lokeswor as presidium members.

As part of the programme, a plogging rally from Thoubal Municipal Council Office to Thoubal keithel was flagged off by the SP Thoubal.

During the programme, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Thoubal, Youth co- ordinator, Michael Mate and Thoubal Municipal Council executive officer, Pradeep Hawaibam enlightened the gathering on the various aspects of the month-long 'Clean India Programme' .

The programme was participated by students, NYK volunteers, SHG members, officials of Thoubal Municipal Council, DLOs and concerned members of the District Monitoring Committee of the district.
