Imphal, October 01 2021: As a part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, one month long Clean India Campaign was launched in Imphal West district today by Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, Th Kirankumar IAS at Kombirei Hall, DC Office, Lamphelpat.
The campaign is a part of the nationwide programme initiated by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, said a press release by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Imphal West.
The main objectives of the campaign is to clean the single use plastic waste in various places by various sections of the society and youth clubs for a 'Clean India: Safe India' .
During the month long campaign, plastic waste will be collected by the youth clubs from their respective villages and Municipal councils, PRIs, schools and colleges, police personnel etc will also join in the activities, added the press release.
The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Imphal West further stated that altogether there will be a target to collect eleven thousand kilograms of plastic waste from the district and it will be disposed off or recycled according to the rules of the Pollution Control Board.
