Imphal, October 02 2021: Ekta Parishad Manipur in co-ordination with National Youth Project (NYP) jointly observed International Day of Non-violence cum public consultancy on 'Homestead Land Rights' at Bal Vidya Mandir here on Saturday.
In a release, Ekta Parishad Manipur state coordinator Aribam Rishikanta Sharma said that the observance was launched with a tree plantation programme inside the campus Bal Vidya Mandir followed by a foot march, sloganeering for establishment of 'Justice and Peace Ministry' at state and national level.
Floral tributes were also paid to the photo of Mahatma Gandhi and two-minute silence observed, he added.
Continuing the demand for homestead land to the landless, 'Eigi lam eigi Hak' (My land my right) campaign has been launched by Rishikanta Sharma followed by submission of memorandum to various state authorities and political parties proposing inclusion of landlessness related issues in villages in Chief Minister's Go to Village Mission 2.0 programme, survey on number of landless families by the authority concerned, launching of Chief Minister Special Scheme to allot land to the landless, translate into Act the 'Manipur State Right to Homestead Bill, 2016' proposed by the organisation and to promote the establishment of 'Justice and Peace Ministry' at state and national level.
He also urged all the political parties to include the aforementioned points in their election manifesto for the upcoming assembly election to be held in 2022 .
