Thoubal, September 28 2021: A discussion programme on 'Climate resilient agriculture' was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Thoubal today and the partipating farmers also interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing.
The programme which was organised as a part of Nationwide interaction programme at IRDEO hall was attended by Heirok AC MLA Th Radheshyam; Dr S Zeshmarani Sarangthe, senior scientiest, KVK Thoubal; Dr Polem Lenin Singh (MCS), assistant commissioner to DC Thoubal and Kh Lalmani, director, Agriculture as presidium members.
Changes that need to be brought in agriculture activity including introduction new varieties of crops in view of changing climatic conditions of the Country were deliberated at the programme.
Seeds were also distributed to farmers as a part of the programme.
Speaking at the progrmme, Th Radheshyam said farmers play an important role in our survival and they are one of the most important profession.
PM Modi interacting with the farmers shows his care and love for the farmers, he added.
Farmers should have a close link with the agricultural scientists and advice given by experts should be implemented to produce new varieties of crop that are resilient to the changing climatic conditions, he added.
Similar programme was also organised by KVK Chandel at its conference hall and was attended by more than 130 farmers.
