Imphal, September 21 2021: Loumeegi Numit was observed today at a simple function organised by Loumee Shinmee Apun Lup (LOUSAL), Manipur at Loumee Ningsing Yumbee, Pungdongbam in Lamlai Assembly Constituency.
A press release issued by LOUSAL stated the attendees paid homage and floral tributes to the memorial stone and a two minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the departed souls who were members of LOUSAL.
The farmer's body encouraged the farmers to implement double cropping practice and requested the Government to improve irrigation facilities as well as availability of urea to overcome the food dependency by the State on other States, the press release added.
It also appealed to the Government to procure food grains and other produce from the farmers of the State at a reasonable price to encourage them.
Further LOUSAL reaffirmed its stand to work selflessly for the welfare of farmers in the State.
