Kakching, September 19 2021: Kakching Runners on Sunday accorded warm reception to Manikanta Mutum, who has been walking to spread the message 'No to Drugs, our Green World' in different districts of the state from August 10 and will continue to walk in several areas in Assam mainly inhabited by Meiteis.
Upon reaching Kakching, Kakching Runners president Moirangthem Sharjit and secretary Kshetrimayum Khogendro led in receiving Manikanta and also planted tree saplings along with him at Aagaan Ching Eco Park, Kakching to mark the event.
Meanwhile, supporting the campaign of Manikanta, Joint Co-ordination Committee on Wildlife & Biodiversity (JCCWB) Manipur received him at Khongjom war memorial complex on Saturday.
Tree saplings were planted around the complex and also cleaned the complex by picking up plastic wastes and water bottles.
The reception function was attended by JCCWB convener Romesh Ningthoujam, Yairipok beat office forest deputy ranger M Biren, Waikhong beat office deputy ranger N Brojen, Honorary Wildlife warden Waikhom Ramchandra and State Board of Wildlife member Elangbam Rameshwor Singh, cyclist G Ingobi Sharma, M Bindiya, A Naocha and S Roshni among others.
