Pony owners advised to use Marjing facility

Imphal, September 18 2021: Directorate of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Services has informed that owners of horses and ponies who have no facilities or are unable to take proper care of their animals could avail the facilities provided by the state government at 'Marjing pony complex', Heingang.

In an appeal to the public, director Ch Nandakishore said that a number of livestock specially horse and ponies colt let loose by their owners on the roads is causing inconveniences to the public including accidents leading to loss of precious human lives.

While urging livestock owners to take proper care, he cautioned that letting loose of their livestock, especially horses and ponies on the streets could be prosecuted under IPC, 1973 and Cattle-Trespass Act, 1871 .
