Chandel, September 15 2021: The five days long training cum demonstration programme on 'Post harvest management and value addition of fruits and vegetables' concluded on Wednesday.
The programme which began on September 10 was organised by KVK Chandel and sponsored by CTRI, Rajahmundry.
It was attended by Ts Gladney Monsang, District Agriculture Officer, Chandel; Ng Vincent Monsang, Chief Monsangpantha village and Dr A Ameeta Devi, Head in-charge of ICAR-KVK Chandel as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Ts Gladney Monsang stressed on generating double income for farmers to sustain their livelihood by implementing the skills gained through the training programme.
Ng Vincent Monsang encouraged the farmers to inculcate export rather than import of goods for growth & development and urged them to adopt new agriculture methods and technologies.
Dr A Ameeta Devi expressed her gratitude to the farmers for completing the training programme while Dr Y Prabhabati Devi, SMS (Home Science) and course coordinator of the programme gave the keynote address.
During the valedictory session, certificates were distributed to the trainees.
