Cleanliness drive conducted at Haochong village

Imphal, September 15 2021: Noney Battalion Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised an awareness cum cleanliness Drive on Environment Preservation at Haochong village on Wednesday.

The drive was carried out with the aim to promote "Swatchh Bharat Mission" and motivate the locals to take initiative to keep the surrounding areas clean and to promote health and sanitation in the villages, said an Assam Rifles release, adding that the villagers also joined the cleanliness drive.

The release informed that main focus of the drive was to educate the locals to stop the use of plastics and random disposal of solid and liquid waste in surrounding areas but use bins for proper waste management.

Apart from this, the villagers were also educated about COVID appropriate Behaviour (CAB) by maintaining social distancing, washing of hands regularly, wearing of masks and importance of COVID vaccination.

Adequate COVID-19 protection measures were followed during the drive, it added.
