Former Minister Th Shyamkumar and Manikanta plant trees

Imphal, September 12 2021: Manikanta Mutum, hailing from Karam Awang Leikai, who is in the midst of his solo walk campaign was warmly felicitated by former Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar at Andro and the two proceeded to plant tree saplings together.

The solo walk under the theme of "No to Drugs" and "Our Green World" will see Manikanta M visiting many places in Manipur and Assam by foot and distributing tree saplings.

The solo walk is being organised by We4U foundation and Karam Awang Leikai Young Club with the support of Organisation For Indian Women Against Crimes (Women Against Crime).

It was kick started on September 10 from Kangla with the blessing of Thounaojam Shyamkumar.

According to a press release issued by Women Against Crime, Manikanta M appealed to the public to join hands in their battle against COVID-19 and to stay away from drugs and other vices.

He also made a request to plant more trees in view of the degrading environment.

Aside from this solowalk, Women Against Crime has also supported various Imphal to Delhi cycle and car rallies among others in the past, the press release said.
