Bishnupur, September 08 2021: Deficit rain in the State has left many farmers in dire straits and the farmers of Shamulamlan Sub division in Churachandpur district are no exception.

'60, 61 Sagang Loukol' which includes the paddy fields of Lamyai, Shamdel, Langambi, Lairensibi, Nungthang, Dampi, Shangom Shumbi, Thumkhong, Tharoipokpi and Keibidak are among the worst affected.

In this regard, a team of Agriculture Department Churachandpur, Progessive Farmers Association and local farmers inspected the paddy fields.

Speaking to media persons, Progressive Farmers Association Sagang president, M Rekhupsong Kom expressed his anguish over the current state of the paddy fields and urged the Chief Minister N Biren Singh to provide assistance through the State Disaster Management Fund or any other State/Centrally sponsored schemes to the farmers.
