World Population Day observed

Bishnupur, September 01 2021: Bishnupur District Family Welfare Bureau and District Health Society jointly observed the 32nd World Population Day on the theme 'Provision of Family Planning Service Even in Crisis, For A Self Reliant nation and Family' at old CMO Bishnupur training hall on Wednesday.

The observance function was attended by District Mission Director CMO Dr N Gyaneshwar Singh, DFWO member secretary Dr KC Luwang, district malaria officer Dr Th Nabakishore Singh, district TB officer Dr S Brojen Singh and District Health Society programme officer O Puspa Devi as presidium members.

While highlighting genesis of observ ing World Population Day every year, Dr KC Luwang said that the socio-economic problems arisingout increasing population across the world is also affecting Manipur.

As such, awareness programmes are being conducted and necessary materials provided through PHC, CHC and PHSC as well as to ASHA workers of the district since July for controlling population, he added.
