Imphal, August 29 2021: As a part of its continuing effort to make the earth green and Clean, 69 Bn CRPF organized a mass tree plantation drive-2021 today at its Hqr, Mantripukhri, B/ 69 Malom, F/69 Kaithelmanbi and A/69 MPSC North AOC spearheaded by Bajrang Lal, Commandant-69 Bn.
In today's plantation drive, unit officers and jawans planted about 1200 saplings in and around the campuses, said a statement by 69 Bn, CRPF.
Mass plantation drive held widely
Speaking on the occasion, the Commandant briefed and highlighted the importance of planting trees for a cleaner and a healthier surrounding and exhorted all unit personnel to contribute their bit for this noble cause for making the world a better place to live in.
A tree plantation programme was organised by Rotary Club of Imphal under 'Project Hariyali', an initiative of Mahindra Finance in association with Rotary Club of Guwahati City and Department of Tourism, Govt of Manipur at historical Khongjom War Memorial Complex, Khongjom today.
The plantation programme is a part of continuing community service project of Rotary Club of Imphal to save the environment on the theme 'Save Mother Earth', said a press release by Rotary Club of Imphal.
M Harekrishna, IAS, Commissioner (Education), Govt of Manipur,W Ibohal Singh, MCS, Director (Tourism), Govt of Manipur along with members of the Rotary Club and officials from Mahindra Finance planted about 160 fruit trees and avenue trees were planted.
During the said tree plantation programme, Beeky Gurung was inducted as a member of the club.
Devkumar Thoudam, President of the club, appealed everyone to plant trees and help save the environment and further appealed everyone to take Covid-19 vaccination at the earliest to protect oneself and the society.
As a part of its mass plantation initiative under the theme 'Shanghanlashi Iramdam', Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) conducted a plantation drive at Th Birchandra Singh Football Academy (TBSFA) complex at Taobung Khok today.
Around 600 saplings were planted in association with the officials of the academy and its players, said a press release by CCSK.
The plantation drive was attended by Jeetendra Ningomba, president of CCSK, Th Khrishnatombi Singh, SP Railways & SP in charge of Special Commando and Th Dilipkumar Singh, general secretary of TBSFA and meira paibis of the area.
Th Krishnatombi lauded the initiative taken by CCSK striving towards a green Manipur and wished them success in all its future endeavours.
Village Community Progressive Committee (VCPC) organised a tree plantation programme at Nongok Sekmai today.
OC of Nongpok Sekmai PS, Keisham Premkumar, Councillor Ward no 1, Md Tollen Shah along with the members of VCPC planted saplings under the theme 'Save Environment', said a press release by VCPC.
