Imphal, August 29 2021: Continuing its tree plantation drive under the theme Sanghanlashi Iramdam', Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) in coordination with Th Birchandra Singh Football Academy (TBSFA) planted saplings of different varieties around complex of the academy on Sunday.
Volunteers of CCSK along with officials and players of the academy planted around 600 saplings during the drive.
According to a statement of CCSK, the drive was also joined by CCSK president Jeetendra Ningomba, SP in charge Special Commando and TBSFA general secretary Th Krishnatombi and Meira Paibi members of the locality.
Regarding the tree plantation drive, Jeetendra Ningomba said that it is important to get fresh and natural air around the academy which produces many national and international footballers and hence tree plantation drive was conducted to keep the complex green throughout the year.

Meanwhile, a one day tree plantation programme was organised by Lions Club of Imphal Greater at the premises of Manipur Legislative Assembly on Sunday under the Lions Club International's global cause - Conservation and Preservation of Environment.
Assembly Speaker Y Khemchand launched the tree plantation programme by planting a fruit sapling in the campus.
Altogether 50 fruit bearing trees were planted in the said programme.
The tree saplings were sponsored by project chairperson of the programme N Samananda.
The event was participated by former district governor of Lions Club International District 322D M Gojendra Singh, Lions Club of Imphal Greater president Ashok Konjengbam, and other key members of the club.
On the other-hand, as a part of 'Project Hariyali' being taken up by Mahin-dra Finance, Rotary Club of Guwahati and Department of Tourism, Rotary Club of Imphal organised a tree plantation programme at Khongjom war memorial complex on Sunday.
The programme organised on the theme 'Save mother earth' was attended by Commissioner (Education) M Harekrishna, Tourism director W Ibohal, Rotary Club members and officials of Mahindra Finance and planted around 160 tree saplings.
