Imphal, July 01 2021: In the wake of chief minister N Biren Singh's indication that steps may be initiated to allow movement of only vaccinated people citing improvement in the COVID-19 situation in the state, Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) has started cleaning up parks located in Imphal city from Thursday onwards.
On the first day, IMC workers sanitised the BT Park in the heart of Imphal city which was handed responsibility to look after by PDA to the corporation recently.
IMC commissioner K Chandrakumar, who supervised the cleanliness drive, told media persons that wastes and debris filled many areas of Imphal city for a long time due to COVID-19 pandemic and the cleanliness drive at BT Park was done to allow reopening of the park as and when the government issues relevant order.
He also said that Indira Park will be cleansed after finishing BT Park.
