Thoubal, July 01 2021: Environmentalist Maibam Memma Devi (68) of Wangjing Hodamba Maning Leikai, Thoubal district has appealed to all environmental enthusiasts to plant trees, while adding that she will provide the saplings for free.
Exhorting individuals and organisations involved in tree plantation drives in connection with the observance of Van Mahotsav from Wednesday; Memma recalled that she has been planting trees in different office complexes and localities.
The saplings have been nursed in her home and not procured from the forest department.
She then announced that she would be providing free tree saplings to all those wanting to plant trees in connection with the celebration of Van Mahotsav and as such, urged all concerned to plant trees to save the environment.
