Imphal, April 18 2021: If interpreted positively and scientifically the inner essence of the demand protection all place of worship for Manipur's indigenous Forest deity across the state can be taken as effective measures for the protection Forest land in the state.
In a statement issued by the SEACO, the government authority has been urged to protect all sites of indigenous Forest God located at all places of Manipur both at hill or plain area.
The motive for the demand of preserving temple of indigenous forest God by SEACO may have been because of the organisation agenda to revived Manipur's indigenous deity besides safeguarding to restore the rich culture and tradition.
But the demand can be in one way help the Forest department, Environment department of the government of Manipur in their effort do presence and increase forest land which is degrading in the state.
The SEACO statement said that the organisation had submitted a memorandum on April 28,2017 that consist of a list of locations about the temples of Forest Gods, locations related history of Manipur.
Places nature the kings of Manipur before Pamheiba had been born.
Places where those king rule, for protection and safeguard of those places.
The SEACO questioned the government about its resources to the protection and preservation of the location of Historical and Rituals places mention in the Memorandum.
"Its four years and nothing is seen taken up by the present government to preserve our Historical site", Publicity Secretary of SEACO Thangjam Inaocha said.
Further said that our land is inhabitated by various ethnic community and each ethnic community have their own believed by offering prayer to their respective Forest God.
This practice should be respected by all.
And if one community have no respect for another community's faith how could the various ethnic group co-exist peacefully and harmoniously.
SEACO once more reminded the government to convert into action the demands put up to the Chief Minister by submitting a memorandum on April 28, 2017 .
