Bishnupur, April 06 2021: President of Young Kwakta Organisation, Anish Ahamad ran a solo run carrying message' of 'Green Manipur, Save Forest, Save Wildlife, Save Loktak Lake' yesterday.
The run was flagged off by Priyadarshini Laihsram, SP Bishnupur from Keibul Lamjao National Park gate and the race was flagged in at DC Churachandpur gate after covering a distance of about 27 kms.
The solo run was supported by CMO Bishnupur, District Forest Officer Bishnupur, Bishnupur District Administration and Bishnupur Police.
This was the second solo run after completing the first one in which he ran the stretch between Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur and Geography Department, Manipur University carrying message of 'Green Manipur' and 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' on March 7 .
Speaking before the run, Anish Ahamad said earlier the forest cover of the state was more than 90% but the recent wildfire and deforestation has resulted in drastic change in climatic conditions in the state.
The run was carried out to give awareness about the changing climate and the need for saving the environment before it gets too late.
SP Priyadarshini Laishram extended financial assistance to Young Kwakta Organisation in support of the noble cause for which the club stands.
