Spt/Bpr/Ccp/Thb/Kpi, March 10 2021: The District Administration and ICDS Cell of Senapati in collaboration with Town Committee, Senapati and CSO's Senapati conducted cleanliness drive at Government offices, roads, schools & hospital, Senapati rivers and at various public places on the first day for the upcoming celebration of 4 years achievement by the Government of Manipur, on the theme "Ban of Single Use Plastics" .
Addressing the programme, PP Ronald, MCS, SDO, Purul stated that the present State Government is working for a change with a missionary zeal to bring all round socio-economic development and progress both in the hills and valleys.
He mentioned that Senapati district is the first district in the state to be declared as Open Defecation Free under Swatch Bharat Mission on 27th March, 2018.Unlike the past years, the district is fully connected with electricity and its people are enjoying uninterrupted power supply.
The cleanliness drive was participated by youth volunteers, staff and student of MANEDA, Government officials and women vendors.
BISHNUPUR
District Administration Bishnupur also organized a massive cleanliness drive across the district on the theme "Emerging Manipur" .
In the event held at Mini Secretariat Complex, DC Bishnupur, Neeta Arambam said that the cleanliness drive campaign was held throughout the district at different Municipalities, Panchayats, educational institutions and offices.
It is just the beginning of the series of events planned by the district administration.
Different events like tree plantation, campaign on employment generation, awareness programme on ODF, etc will also be held in the coming days, she added.
The DC mentioned that on the last day of the celebration (March 15), a cumulative district level event will be organised by the District Administration, Bishnupur.
In the event, solar lamps will also be distributed to selected youth and students from the district.
DLOs of the district and staff along with the volunteers of NYK Bishnupur participated in the cleanliness drive.
CHURACHANDPUR
Likewise, the Churachandpur District Administration also organised a mass cleanliness drive across the district today.
The massive cleanliness drive was carried out through District Level Officers and Sub-Divisional Officers and monitored by Additional DC under the overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner.
Staff of Medical Department cleaned toilets, corridors and wards of District Hospital and its surrounding areas.
Staff of other departments like DYSO, DFO, Police, IRB, PWD, Social Welfare, PHED, NYK, DRDA, Agriculture, Horticulture, ADCC, LDM, Banks, NERCORMP, CAF&PD, Veterinary & AH, DTO, Cooperative, Shopkeeper's association, cleaned roadside garbage and drains along Tiddim road, Rengkai Road, Bazar area, IB Road and Tipaimukh Road in the town area.
At the same time, Government Schools in town areas were also cleaned under the supervision of ZEO.
THOUBAL
Mass cleanliness drives were also conducted at DHQ, Subdivisional HQ, Offices of DLOs, ULBs, GPs, schools, AWCs, Health & Wellness Centres, etc across Thoubal district with the theme "Collection of single used plastics (SUP) & awareness on the ban of SUP" .
A rally on the awareness to ban SUP was also carried out as a part of the drive.
KANGPOKPI
Cleanliness drives were also carried out today in Kangpokpi town by the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Kangpokpi.
The drive was the commencement of various activities schedule to be taken up by different departments in the district under the aegis of District Administration Kangpokpi.
The drive led by James Doujapao Haokip, MCS was conducted at Nute Kailhang and Kangpokpi main Bazar area.
Paominthang Doungel, Executive Officer (Town) led a team at Nute Kailhang while Satkholen Khongsai(PA i/c) and Limminthang Haokip (LDC) led another team at the market area.
