Maram Bn Assam Rifles joins fight to tackle Dzuko valley inferno

Senapati, January 07 2021: Maram Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Jwalamukhi Sector Assam Rifles in its relentless efforts towards safety and security of people as well as flora and fauna of Manipur has been actively involved in dousing of wildfire in Dzuko valley along with other agencies such as NDRF, SDRF, Manipur Fire services, Manipur Police and Forest Guards.

Commandant Maram Battalion along with Company Commander COB Mao of Assam Rifles visited the wildfire site in Dzuko Valley and interacted with DC Kirankumar IAS, DFO and heads of various agencies involved - NDRF, SDRF, Manipur Police, Forest Department and Indian Reserve Battalion at Base camp on foothills of Mount Iso and assured them of all possible assistance including the security of all individuals involved against any UG threat.

Assam Rifle troops have been assisting the NDRF and other agencies in dousing the fire as well as making fire lanes and trenches to prevent further spread of the fire.

Logistic supports including lodging and tentage for the firefighters and volunteers have also been provided by the Mao Post of Assam Rifles.
