- Farmer training programme on crop rotation held at Kaibi village Source: The Sangai Express Senapati, July 20 2022: As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, District Agriculture Officer, Senapati today organised a one day farmer training programme on crop rotation under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) at Kaibi village. The programme conducted under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)- Kharif 2022 was attended by District Agriculture Officer Senapati, SP Lovejoy Anal and N Nilamani Singh, Nodal Officer PMFBY, District Training Officer, Directorate of Agriculture as presidium members. LS Lavei James, EO Agriculture Department, Senapati; B Hekha Mao, EO Agriculture Department, Senapati; L Sani, FA Senapati and H Katine Khrasi, FA Senapati also took part in the training programme as resource persons. The celebration was attended by Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal chancellor Prof S Ayappan, director extension (education) in-charge Prof Th Ranadhir, registrar Dr K Mamocha Singh and deputy director Dipak Nath as presidium members. During the celebration, Prof S Ayappan encouraged the fish farmers to adopt appropriate method/technology so as to increase their fish yield. Later, fish medicines and fingerlings were distributed. - Training programme on 'Harvest and post harvest fisheries' organised Source: The Sangai Express Imphal, January 20 2022: A 3-day training programme on 'Harvest and post-harvest fisheries' was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Imphal East), Central Agricultural University at the Training Hall of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Andro from January 17-19 . Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the training programme, S Motibala Devi, programme co-ordinator, KVK spoke about the benefits of rearing fishes and the variety of nutritional products that can be made from them, as per a statement released by KVK, Andro. The statement further added that many subject experts imparted their invaluable knowledge on the topic during the course of the training programme.
