UKHRUL | Apr 11 : Tangkhul Frontal Organisations has resolved to bar the entry of Forest minister, Th. Shyamkumar in the Tangkhul inhabited area as the timber ceased by the Forest department has not been released unconditionally by April 10. A coordination meeting of all the frontal organisations was held on April 10 at TNL Hall, the members had strongly objected to the ceasing of timbers recently by the Forest department in Tangkhul area. The meeting also resolved to prohibit Tangkhul people from inviting the Forest minister in Tankhul areas and further asserted that the Forest Act should not be enforced in tribal areas. The coordination meeting was chaired by president of Tangkhul Naga Long and attended by representatives of Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong, Tangkhul Shanao Long, Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long, Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long, chairman of the four Longphang, All Hunphun Tang Association and headman of Shirui. It may be mentioned that on March 2018, Forest minister of Manipur accompanied by MLA of 43- Phungyar assembly constituency attended Kamo Hau Festival at Phalang village. They went on for a surprise visit beyond Phalang village and ceased lots of timber along with vehicles.
