World Energy Day observed

The ‘World Energy Day’ was observed at the seminar hall of Institution of Engineers (India) IEI , Manipur State Centre of the government Polytechnic college at Takyel, Imphal west today.

The presidium members of the observation ceremony were chairman of IEI , Kh. Temba Singh, Secretary N. Joykumar Singh of IEI, N Shyamkumar Singh former chairman of Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (Manipur and Mizoram), lecturer of Mechanical Engineering (NIT) Manipur Th. Subhaschandra Singh, proprietor of  SS Electronics S. Sharatchadra Singh and Kh. Angousana ,IEI founder chairman

Presenting the motto of organising the observation ceremony, Kh. Temba Singh said that as observed globally, India is also observing World Energy day in all the centres of IEI. Similarly in Manipur it is being organised by IEI at the Government Polytechnic college.

The main objectives of the energy day is to mobilise the importance of saving any form of non-renewable energy which may be exhausted after 40-50 years and promotion of non-conventional form of energy which is environment al friendly like solar power, wind energy etc. which will help to conserve exhaustible conventional natural resources , he suggested avoidance of unnecessary and wasteful utilization and reduction in consumption of energy .

Power point presentations on the topic ‘Renewable energy  technology’ and ‘Your rooftop can be a source of power’ were given by Th Subhaschandra and S. Sharatchandra Singh respectively.
