People for Animal Manipur (PFP) today rescued two Himalayan black bears from Tlaang Lhung Bung Garden of Langol village, Tengnoupal. The garden was reported to be owned by MLA D. Korungthang, of Tengnoupal AC.

In a release managing trustee of PFP L Biswajeet Meitei said before three to four years, the two bears were found by villagers as cubs in the forest. From that day, MLA nurtured and provided care for the two with the hope that they grew larger and fit for survival on its own.

People for Animals Manipur found the bears and  spoke with the authority of the Garden and discussed about them. Further, higher officials of forest department discussed with the MLA.

Today, under the supervision of Gaithaolu Thaimei DFO Tengnoupal Forest Division PFA members, forest staffs and staffs from State Zoological Garden jointly took over the animals.

After an emotional separation between the staffs of the Garden the bears were brought to state zoo for necessary procedures.

PFA Manipur expressed gratitude to the MLA for his noble deed towards wild animals.
